Passenger compartment fan

The vehicles mentioned above may experience a partial failure of the passenger compartment fan. In such cases, the fan will stop running at any level except for full power.

This can usually be traced back to excessive current consumption in the fan motor. This causes damage to the fan controller. If only the controller is replaced, there is a risk of it failing again after a short time.

The vehicle manufacturer intends for both the controller and the fan to be replaced.

Proceed as follows to rectify the problem:

  • Remove the lower cover in the passenger footwell (LHD)
  • Remove the fan and replace with a modified version
  • Remove the fan controller and replace with a modified version
  • Perform a functional test
  • Replace the cover
