Ford Transit - Drainage of condensed water from air conditioning system | HELLA

Ford

Transit with air conditioning system

Some of the above-mentioned vehicles with air conditioning system may experience condensed water in the footwell/interior when the air conditioning system is switched on; this is transported through the air blower's air flow.

To solve this problem, Ford offers a drain basin with a drain that is installed below the heating.

For this, the switch lever must be removed and the floor covering in the area of the switch lever detached. Bring the drain basin between the floor pan and the heating housing into the correct installation position. Transfer the bore in the drain basin onto the floor pan and bore to fit the rubber grommet. Protect the bore against corrosion, insert the rubber grommet and fasten the floor covering. Cut an appropriate hole into the floor covering and place the corresponding drain hose through the rubber grommet into the drain nozzle of the drain basin. Reinstall the switch lever.
