Grande Punto (199)

Engine: 1.2 i (48 KW)

Starter not functioning

Engine does not start

The vehicles mentioned above can have a faulty starter relay that can cause the engine to not spin or start.

The relay which activates the starter may occasionally 'stick'. Consequently, the starter will not activate and the fault memory will store the error code P0657 (battery voltage before/after the main relay; voltage supply failure).

To remedy this problem, check the fuse (30 A) and starter activation relay and replace them if necessary. The fuse and relay can be found in the engine compartment fuse box.
