If a customer complains about the above problem, this could be caused by moisture. Leaks may occur in the upper right area of the windshield (connection to body). This results in water penetrating into the front footwell. The water penetrates into the main cable harness (near the bulkhead) and into the multi-function control unit through the, causing the above-mentioned complaint. If this is the case, the glass pane must be sealed. In addition, the cable harness must be dried and checked for possible damages (corrosion). Thereafter, the control unit's plug connection must be checked and cleaned if necessary. If this does not resolve the complaint, the control unit must be replaced.
