Expansion tank/Loss of coolant

Due to cracks in the expansion tank return nozzle, a loss of coolant may be experienced in the above vehicles.

These cracks are caused by thermal loads and may lead to a loss of coolant. If the engine temperature increases as a result of this, acoustic and visual signals will be issued accordingly by the instrument cluster. If necessary, the engine will switch to "emergency running."

In order to remedy the problem, the expansion tank should be check and, if necessary, replaced.
