Headlamp fogging

Water enters the headlamp

If heavy fogging or, in some cases, increased water ingress is observed inside the headlamp, this may be caused by a crack in the housing of the SML (side marker lamp) (Fig. 1).

The SML is partially covered by the CW seal.

Cause:

The housing of the SML is damaged.

Cracks may have formed by adverse mechanical stress, for example, if pressure forces occur in this area due to objects or tools: (closing the bonnet without removing tools / objects before).

- Incorrect adjustment of the bonnet.
