Note on separating/unlocking the above different oval connectors on vehicles from the Volkswagen Group (see figures 1 + 2) 14-pin and 10-pin.
Under no circumstances must unsuitable tools, such as a screwdriver (figure 3), be used to unlock or loosen the lock.
Note that the connector must first be pressed on (e.g. on the headlight). In doing so the connector slackens a little as the surrounding rubber seal can be compressed slightly in the plug. When the connector is kept under slight pressure, the "unlocking button" (Figure 4) on the male connector housing can now be pressed and the connector can be removed (e.g. from the headlight).
You must handle it properly even in confined spaces.
This prevents the plug connection from being damaged and working loose during further operation.
