The error codes stated below are stored in the engine control module:
- P0087/135 refers to the following:
Fuel system pressure; pressure is too low.
- P0093/147 refers to the following:
Fuel system; extensive leakage detected.
In such a case, the fuel filter can be clogged.
The reason for this could be that, as a result of using the fuel additive, Eolys 176 (fixed by the car manufacturer), a sludge-like mass has formed and then blocked the fuel filter.
In order to remedy the problem, it is necessary to renew the fuel filter.
The car manufacturer has now discontinued the use of the Eolys 176 additive. In place of Eolys 176 (particle filter-generation 1 and 2), it is only the new additive, Infineum (particle filter-generation 3), that is being used.
With all the above-mentioned engines, the maintenance intervals set for the checking of the fuel filter have now been subsequently reduced from 60,000 km to 30,000 or to 20,000 km. All specialist garages have been informed and, if required, these carry out checks on all vehicles affected.
