On the above mentioned vehicles a loose alternator belt pulley can result in the failure of the vehicle's electrical system and damage to other components.
Due to a production fault the alternator belt pulley can become loose while driving.
As a result there is a risk the battery will no longer be charged and neighbouring components may be damaged by the belt pulley as it falls off. The alternator control light illuminates and the engine may stop while driving.
The problem has already been identified by the vehicle manufacturer. The vehicles affected will be checked during a recall and the alternator replaced if necessary.
However, it can be assumed there will be vehicles on the market that will not have been checked for various reasons.
Please note this information in case of complaints related to the battery and the illumination of the alternator control light.
