ABS / ESP control lamp is on + error code C1606
On the vehicle mentioned above, it is possible that the ABS/ESP control lamp suddenly lights up. Often the error code C1606 (ECU/software error) is then stored in the control unit.
A possible cause is "a software weakness" in the control unit of the front camera.
In order to rule out any other causes, all system-relevant electrical and mechanical components, including the power supply, should be checked before any software update is performed.
A software update can be carried out, for example, via Hella-Gutmann macsRemote Services or by using a pass-through-capable diagnostic device from the mega macs series. Furthermore, registered access to the vehicle manufacturer's online portal is required. If the appropriate equipment is not available, please contact an authorised specialist workshop.
