If there is a complaint regarding the failure of the side direction indicator (Fig. 1) on the above-mentioned vehicle, the cause could be a defective connection cable.
Fig. 1If the cable is improperly routed (Fig. 2), shocks and vibrations etc. can cause the connecting cable or its insulation to chafe on sharp edges of the body or folded edges during driving until there is a cable break/short circuit.
Fig. 2To analyze the fault, remove the wheel and the wheel arch liner (Fig. 3). Repair the defective cable properly. Then ensure that the cable is correctly routed (possibly consider applying edge protection).
Perform a function check, (Fig. 4).
