Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) warning lamp lights up sporadically - additional failure of various systems possible

The DSC warning lamp on the above-mentioned vehicle series has been known to light up sporadically. In addition, various Check Control messages can be displayed in the instrument cluster. If no definite faults have been detected in the periphery of the affected systems during the diagnosis, special attention should be paid to the harness in the front right wheel well.

The windscreen washer fluid running off the windscreen can cause the sheathing of the individual cables to swell. Water penetrating the harness can lead to corrosion and increased contact resistances. In order to carry out further testing, remove the front right wheel well trim. Check the harness in this area for swollen cable insulation, corrosion on the cables and also check the plug connections.

If a defect is found here, it is then necessary to replace the harness. To prevent further damage, the vehicle manufacturer is able to provide a special water drainage tray. Part number: 6112 6825706
