System failures or malfunctions and error code 030410
With the above-mentioned vehicle, various failures/malfunctions (cruise control, gear selector) may occur in conjunction with the multifunction steering wheel.
The error message "cruise control failed" may then appear in the instrument cluster. In addition, error code 030410 (MFL LIN slave) may be stored in the control unit.
This may be caused by poor contact between the steering wheel coil spring and the multiple connector on the steering wheel wiring harness.
In order to eliminate the problem, the coil spring and the steering wheel wiring harness must be replaced. As part of this job, it is recommended that you contact the vehicle manufacturer or an authorised BMW workshop.
