Brake pads

The HELLA range of brake pads contains more than 2,300 items which are manufactured from 50 different friction lining formulas. They are designed to precisely match the respective vehicle types, brake systems, engine outputs, driving loads and brake characteristics. In addition, HELLA disc brake pads cover almost 100 % of European vehicle stocks.

HELLA places a great deal of importance on carrying out comprehensive quality tests. Products are tested in the research and development centre, and also on the road under real-life conditions. The benchmark is always the high standards of the vehicle and brake manufacturers. Our brake pads are tested for up to 300,000 kilometres and undergo 1,000 hours of bench tests during this programme before they are released for series production. HELLA therefore puts maximum safety and performance capability at the top of its agenda.

  • Premium quality

  • HELLA exceeds ECE-R90 requirements

  • We cover 99% of the European market with our brake pads

Brake pads for electric & hybrid vehicles

Brake pads for electric & hybrid vehicles

All HELLA brake pads for electric and hybrid vehicles fulfil the highest requirements in terms of braking performance, comfort and durability. Environmental protection and compatibility already play a key role in product development.

The copper content of the brake pads is particularly relevant here. HELLA has set itself the goal of offering only copper-free brake pads with a maximum copper content of 0.5 % in relation to the total weight in its worldwide range.

The front and rear axle brake pads for all electric and hybrid vehicles already fulfil these strict requirements and are labelled with the corresponding leaf symbol (N - copper-free). The copper-free formulation of the brake pads is not only environmentally friendly, but also precisely tailored to the respective vehicle types, brake systems, engine performance, driving loads and brake characteristics.

Electric and hybrid vehicles have one thing in common - due to the linear torque curve, they reach high speeds in the shortest possible time, which is why excellent braking performance is important. The friction lining formula takes this into account. The company has tested the properties for friction coefficient, pedal pressure and hot wear at its research and development centre.

The brake pads also exceed the applicable ECE regulation 90.

Brake linings for light commercial vehicles

To meet the massive demands in terms of weight and maximum speed, special brake pads are needed that have a high coefficient of friction and are also low-wear.

HELLA brake pads undergo up to 300,000 test kilometres and 1,000 hours of testing during their development. This creates a level of quality that exceeds legal requirements and ensures that you can fully trust them.
