Washer jets overheat

It is possible that the washer jets in the above-mentioned vehicle are affected by overheating.

As a result of heating elements which are inadequately sealed, water or road salt and grit can find their way into the washer jets.

This often leads to corrosion and to overheating of the washer jets. This, in turn, can bring about the producing of a nasty smell and it can sometimes even cause smoke to be produced.

Specialist garages are able to fit all vehicles concerned with new, modified washer jets (equipped with built-in fuse protection).

The vehicle manufacturer has already addressed the issue and notified owners of all models affected. For various reasons, however, it must be assumed that not all vehicles have been checked or modified.
