Particulate filter regeneration not possible, error codes P2080, P2084
Particulate filter regeneration may not be possible with the above-mentioned vehicle. The error codes P2080 and P2084, equivalent to exhaust gas temperature sensor 1/2 having an invalid signal, are stored in the error memory.
If no faults are detected on the sensors and peripherals during troubleshooting and control unit diagnostics, the fault may be related to a software error in the engine control unit. In such a case, the control unit software has to be checked and an update carried out if necessary.
A software update can be carried out, for example, via Hella-Gutmann macsRemote Services or by using a pass-through-capable diagnostic device from the mega macs series. Furthermore, registered access to the vehicle manufacturer's online portal is required.
If the appropriate equipment is not available, please contact an authorised specialist workshop.
