If the above defect is noticed, the cause may be a faulty ESC unit for the Electronic Stability Control. Faulty or sticking pistons prevent a controlled pressure buildup or reduction in pressure in the hydraulic braking system. As the vehicle manufacturer does not provide for repair of this hydraulic unit, the component must be replaced in its entirety.
The vehicle manufacturer has already addressed the issue and notified the owners of affected vehicles. However, it can be assumed that not all vehicles have been inspected and repaired as part of the corrective action.
In case of repair, we recommend contacting an authorized dealer first for coordinating repair handling.
