If the above deficiency is observed in the this type of vehicle it may be caused by a faulty sensor in the tank filler neck or an incorrect tank cap.
This is one of the vehicle’s safety functions and is intended to prevent injuries or damage if the sliding door is opened while the tank cap is open.
The door would otherwise collide with the tank cap.
This is recognized by an inductive sensor in the filler neck, which detects an integrated magnet in the cap.
In this situation, check that the sensor is functioning correctly and that the tank has the correct cap.
If necessary, replace the faulty part.
