How does it work

How does it work?

Air Intake: The blower fan draws air from the outside environment or recirculates air from the cabin. Filters clean the incoming air and remove dust and debris.

Airflow Over the Evaporator (Cooling) or Heater Core (Heating): Once the air is drawn in, it passes through either the evaporator coil (for cooling) or the heater core (for heating). The evaporator coil, chilled by the refrigerant in the A/C system, cools the air. In heating mode, air passes over the heated heater core to warm the air.

AirDistribution: The blower then forces the air through the system’s ducts and vents, allowing it to be directed into the cabin through the dashboard or floor vents.

Speed Control: The blower speed is usually adjustable, allowing the driver or user to increase or decrease the airflow. This is controlled either via a manual knob or an electronic control system, adjusting the fan's speed.

Temperature Control: The blower works in conjunction with the air conditioning or heating system to provide the desired interior temperature. When cooling, the blower ensures that the cold air from the evaporator circulates throughout the cabin. When heating, it ensures that the warm air is distributed effectively.

Replace A/C parts

Why and when to replace?

Poor Airflow: If the blower is not producing sufficient airflow or if airflow becomes weak, it may indicate a failure in the motor or fan blades, requiring replacement.

Unusual Noises: Grinding, rattling, or whistling noises can be signs of a damaged blower motor, fan, or other internal components. If the noise persists, the blower may need to be replaced.

Motor Failure: If the blower motor stops working completely, it can no longer circulate air. A dead motor is a clear indication that the blower needs to be replaced.

Blower Speed Issues: If the blower operates at only one speed, or if the speed control doesn’t work properly, the motor, resistor, or control module may be faulty and require replacement.

Airflow Imbalance: Uneven airflow (strong airflow from some vents, weak airflow from others) can be caused by a malfunctioning blower or blockages within the system that need attention or replacement.

Electrical Issues: If there are electrical problems such as blown fuses or malfunctioning wiring, it can prevent the blower from functioning. In this case, the blower might need to be replaced to fix the issue.
