Brake pad assembly instructions

General assembly instructions

An assembly instruction of the VRI (German Association of the Friction Product Industry) or the FEMFM (Federation of European Manufactures of Friction Materials) is enclosed with the brake pad set supplied by HELLA.

This is a generally applicable assembly instruction for the installation and removal of disc brake pads and drum brake linings for motor vehicles.

Special assembly instructions

Additional product-specific assembly instructions are enclosed for several pad sets.

These inform of particular damping measures that refer to the targeted application of brake grease, the necessity of a diagnostics device or a directionally-bound assembly of the brake pad.

Repair note

The enclosed assembly instructions must also be followed in the same manner as the special repair instructions of the vehicle and brake manufacturers.

Only correctly mounted brake pads guarantee a trouble-free and reliable function.

According to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, non-observance of the assembly and repair instructions cancels the technical experts approval and thus, also the General Certification for a vehicle of the vehicle affected.
