Vehicle has no power, error code P2563 - boost pressure regulator / position sensor signal implausible

The engine power may be reduced in the above-mentioned vehicles, as a result of which the engine warning lamp in the instrument cluster is activated. Error code P2563 is stored in the error memory of the engine control unit. This error code indicates a problem in the turbocharger control system because the boost pressure actuator of the turbocharger no longer reaches its target position. In such a case, special attention should be paid to the vacuum system for the controlling of the turbocharger.
During troubleshooting in the area of vacuum control, the leak tightness of the entire system must therefore be checked; if no faults are found in the periphery as part of the diagnosis, a possible cause may be a leak in the pressure control valve in the cylinder head cover.

The crankcase pressure can no longer be regulated correctly because of a defect in the valve.

We recommend the following procedure for further testing:
- Attach the hose to the connection (Fig. A) on the cylinder head cover
- Create a vacuum with a hand vacuum pump

If no vacuum is built up or the generated vacuum is not maintained, this indicates a defect in the valve. In such a case, the cylinder head cover has to be replaced. Please always observe the maintenance and repair notes provided by the vehicle manufacturer when carrying out such work and checks!

Once the cause of the fault has been removed, delete the error memory and then carry out a test drive.

IMPORTANT
Please always follow the repair instructions from the vehicle manufacturer when carrying out such work.
