Should the air-conditioning system and/or compressor not function properly in the above vehicles, a defect/fault in the area of the outside temperature sensor might be the cause.
The temperature sensor is situated to the left (in direction of travel) below the cowl screen (Fig. 1). The cause of the defect can either be the sensor itself or the connecting cable (Fig. 2), which has been damaged by the wiper motor linkage. The sensor can be checked for "plausibility" via the measured value blocks, i.e. it is possible to compare the sensor value with the actual value of the ambient temperature by using a diagnostics device.
