Important safety note
If the error mentioned above is detected, one possible cause could be a faulty seal on the high-pressure safety valve. Defective seals cause the fuel to be diverted from the high-pressure side into the pump housing and fed into the low-pressure circuit. This means that the fuel pressure required to start the engine – at least 150 bar – cannot be built up.
The safety valve, which is installed in the lower part of the high-pressure pump, must be unscrewed to check the seals. In the event of a repair, both seals must always be replaced. Since the vehicle manufacturer does not offer a spare part, the seals must be obtained from the pump manufacturer or the independent aftermarket.
In this regard, always follow the diagnostic and repair instructions from the relevant vehicle and system manufacturers!
