Important safety note
Procedure if the ABS/ESP control unit does not switch off
On the vehicles mentioned above, the ABS/ESP control unit may not return to its idle state after the ignition is switched off.
If other causes of error can be ruled out, it is possible to remedy the issue by following the procedure below:
- Switch off ignition and wait 10 minutes
- Disconnect battery ground cable and wait 2 minutes
- Connect the ground cable
- Read out/clear error memory
If the procedure does not lead to success, a software update may remedy the issue. We advise you to contact a Mercedes-Benz partner for this.
