Ford C- Max - Engine control light is on | HELLA

Ford

C- Max, 1.6l Duratec 16V

Engine code: HWDA, HWDB

Model year: 2003-2007

Engine control light is on

Vehicle is losing power

Error code:

P2135 “Incorrect throttle position”

P2119 “Throttle valve activation”

P2176 “Actuating drive adaptation”

If the above fault with the stated error codes is detected on vehicles of this type this may be associated with a faulty plug connection or a fault in the linkage of the throttle unit. In this case, check the plugs and sockets for poor connections or corrosion. If you find nothing wrong, remove the throttle unit and check it, making sure that the throttle blade can move freely. When the actuating drive is not activated, two springs hold the throttle valve slightly open at a basic setting. After the throttle blade lever has been turned by hand it needs to return to its basic setting under the power of the springs.

If this function is no longer guaranteed you will need to replace the throttle unit.

Please always do this by following the disassembly and reassembly instructions from the vehicle manufacturer.
