If a customer complains about the above problem, this could be caused by the hazard light switch. Due to an internal defect in the switch, the hazard blinking lights are activated without being deliberately switched on. In this case, the hazard light switch must be replaced.
Proceed as follows.
1. Pull off the rotary switch (3) to the front of the operating unit (4b).
2. Push down the catches (4a) and remove the operating unit (4b) from the bracket (2).
3. Pull off the connector (5) from the operating unit.
4. Remove and replace the hazard light switch (6).
5. Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order.
6. Test the system for proper function.
