If it is reported that a large amount of effort must be expended to operate electric power steering for these vehicles, then the torque sensor for the electric power steering may be defective.
Check in advance whether error codes have been stored relating to the torque sensor for electric power steering.
In order to analyse the source of the error and to rule out other causes of the malfunction, the electrical connections and the contacts for the wiring harness multi-plug have to be checked (see Figure/arrows). Furthermore, ensure that the plug connectors are firmly seated on the wiring harness connectors.
If no malfunctions arise during the electrical analysis, then the gear rack for the electric power steering can be taken into consideration as the source of the error.
