Coolant indicator lamp lights up and/or increased coolant temperature

If the coolant indicator lamp lights up on the vehicles mentioned above and/or the engine temperature is elevated, the cooling system should be checked for leaks.

Particular attention should be paid to the thermostat housing. Here, the O-ring may be the cause of the error.

If there is a leak there, the thermostat housing should be removed and the O-ring (06B121119B) replaced. Before assembling, ensure that the contact surfaces are thoroughly cleaned. The cooling system must then be filled and vented in line with the manufacturer's specifications.
