Whenever the above-mentioned fault is detected, it can very often be traced back to the presence of corrosion between the brake pad and the brake drum. In such a case the drum brake system must be checked for possible defects and then repaired if necessary.
If the brake pads are renewed in the course of the repairs, the following aspect has to be borne in mind.
For reasons of quality improvement, vehicle manufacturers use modified brake pads to suit each kind of model.
