Charge signal lamp flashes

A complaint has ben made that the charge signal lamp flashes in the vehicles specified above.

An activated logistics mode can be responsible for this problem.

On all Astra J (from model year 2012), the logistics mode is activated ex-factory before being supplied.

The logistics mode is activated when:

- message in DIC (Driver Information Center) (Figure 1) "LOGISTIC-MODE ON".

or

- the charge signal lamp flashes when the engine is running.

Info:

When the logistics mode is activated, the alarm control system is switched off and the current consumption of the BCM (Body Control Module) is reduced.

To deactivate or activate the logistics mode, proceed as described in the following.

Deactivation:

- Start the engine.

- Switch on the hazard warning lights.

- With the engine running (the starter is not also running), turn the ignition key to the position "Start engine" for approx. 20 seconds.

- Depending on the equipment version, the message "Logistics mode off" appears and / or the battery display stops flashing. (Figure 2)

- Switch off the hazard warning lights and the engine.

Activation:

- Start the engine.

- Switch on the hazard warning lights.

- With the engine running (the starter is not also running), turn the ignition key to the position "Start engine" for approx. 20 seconds.

- Depending on the equipment version, the message "Logistics mode on" appears and / or the battery display flashes. (Figure 3)

- Switch off the hazard warning lights and the engine.
