Important safety note

With the above-mentioned vehicle model, it can happen that disturbing rattling noises are heard from the engine compartment shortly after starting the engine. One possible cause could be vibration noises on the actuating rod of the bypass flap on the turbocharger.
By applying light pressure with a screwdriver to the pull rod of the boost pressure box (Fig.), you can check whether the sound of the noise can be changed. If no other defect is found in the lever mechanism during troubleshooting, the vehicle manufacturer will be able to offer a remedy in the form of a software update. The update increases the control of the vacuum box during the warm-up phase, which compensates for tolerance on the rod. A software update can be carried out, for example, via Hella-Gutmann macsRemote Services or by using a pass-through-capable diagnostic device from the mega macs series. Furthermore, registered access to the vehicle manufacturer's online portal is required. If the appropriate equipment is not available, please contact an authorised specialist workshop.
This defect may also occur in other models with the same type of engine.
