HELLA donates medical supplies to fight the novel Coronavirus

Shanghai, March 3, 2020. HELLA donates needed medical supplies to the Zhongnan hospital in Wuhan, China, to support the people affected by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Infrared thermal imagers, disinfectant and further supplies with a total of 50.000 Euros are required to help treating patients. "As a global, family-owned company, we would like to contribute to jointly overcome the coronavirus epidemic in China", says Jan Hellmich, Managing Director of HELLA Corporate Center China. HELLA has been active in China for more than 30 years and has strong ties to the country. "We are impressed how the Chinese people handle this challenging situation", says Jan Hellmich.

 

The donation has already arrived at the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University and will now be distributed between the hospital and the newly established Leishen Shan and FangCang hospitals, which are dedicated to treating patients with the coronavirus.

 

As an international company with locations in some 35 countries and around 5,000 employees in China alone, HELLA is affected by the current spread of the novel coronavirus. At present, HELLA has restarted its production in all its Chinese plants and provides flexible solutions for office employees in Asia to work from home. The company has set up a global as well as local crisis management teams. The company is taking several precautious measures such as limiting international travels, supplying 200,000 masks to Chinese employees and disinfecting buildings in China.
