Tire pressure is an essential safety factor when driving. The most frequent tire failures result from a gradual loss of pressure, which is often noticed too late by the vehicle's driver.
Too low a tire pressure also leads to increased fuel consumption and poor handling. This is also associated with an increase in tire temperature and greater wear. The tire can suddenly burst as a result of insufficient tire pressure. This presents an enormous safety risk for all passengers. For this reason, tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) have been mandatory for all new vehicles in the EU since November 2014.
With its battery-powered tire pressure monitoring sensors, HELLA offers a reliable and high-quality safety product. They are mounted directly in the respective wheel rim of the vehicle and measure the temperature and pressure of the tire. The measured tire pressure value is transmitted by radio to the tire pressure control unit. If a pressure loss is recorded, it emits an optical/acoustic warning message via the display unit.
In addition to the existing vehicle-specific tire pressure monitoring sensors, HELLA now offers the following universal sensor in different variants. Suitable for a wide range of applications. Important: For the universal sensors, it is necessary to transfer the protocol to the sensor using a tool.
