Tyre pressure is an essential safety factor when driving. The most frequent tyre failures result from a gradual loss of pressure, which is often noticed too late by the vehicle's driver.
Too low a tyre pressure also leads to increased fuel consumption and poor handling. This is also associated with an increase in tyre temperature and greater wear. The tyre can suddenly burst as a result of insufficient tyre pressure. This presents an enormous safety risk for all passengers. For this reason, tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) have been mandatory for all new vehicles in the EU since November 2014.
With its battery-powered tyre pressure monitoring sensors, HELLA offers a reliable and high-quality safety product. They are mounted directly in the respective wheel rim of the vehicle and measure the temperature and pressure of the tyre. The measured tyre pressure value is transmitted by radio to the tyre pressure control unit. If a pressure loss is recorded, it emits an optical/acoustic warning message via the display unit.
In addition to the existing vehicle-specific tyre pressure monitoring sensors, HELLA now offers the following universal sensor in different variants. Suitable for a wide range of applications. Important: For the universal sensors, it is necessary to transfer the protocol to the sensor using a tool.
