This is what starters and alternators do
Starters are like wholesalers: without them, things just don't work. The starter (motor) is an electric motor that starts a vehicle’s combustion engine by bringing the combustion engine to a sufficient speed for the starting process via a gearwheel, also known as a pinion, to trigger it to start.
The alternator supplies all electrical consumers in the vehicle with energy when driving. At the same time, the alternator charges the starter battery. The alternator is usually driven by the engine via a drive belt.
Good to know: Start-stop systems are often used to reduce emissions. For this purpose, starters from HELLA have a heavy-duty design for a longer service life. Alternators intended for start-stop systems have a higher power.
