Multifunction Lights:
More than Just Tail Lights and Brake Lights

In its first few decades, the automotive industry paid scant attention to rear lights. They were relatively small and served only as tail and brake lights. These days, rear combination lamps have multiple functions: backup lights, rear direction indicators, brake lights, tail lights, rear fog lights and reflectors. Rear combination lamps are also increasingly influencing the overall design of a vehicle. If rear combination lamps are interesting enough, they can even identify the marque itself, especially in the dark.
