Essen, 24. July 2020. Hella Pagid, the Essen-based brake system specialist for the independent aftermarket and joint venture of the automotive suppliers TMD Friction and HELLA, offers more than 14,000 brake spare parts for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles as a complete supplier. The company is now planning to expand its range of brake discs for selected BMW models and markets to include one-piece brake discs.
From the end of 2020 onwards, with these one-piece brake discs made of high-carbon grey cast iron, Hella Pagid will be offering an attractive and economical alternative to the two-piece composite brake discs for BMW models, being already known from the Hella Pagid range. Like the two-piece brake discs, the one-piece BMW brake discs will be designed for maximum resistance, durability, braking power and braking comfort and will follow the OE claim of Hella Pagid.
These one-piece brake discs are high-carbon, which enables optimum brake performance and cooling through faster heat dissipation due to the material structure, as well as anti-corrosion coated. This environmentally friendly, water-based coating prevents corrosion at the disc rim and cup, so that the brake discs still have a good appearance even after a long time.
The one-piece brake discs offer a lower entry price, so that not only wholesalers but also workshops and ultimately the end customer can benefit. In addition, workshops benefit from the fact that, if necessary, fixing screws are included in the scope of delivery, which enable quick and easy installation.
Due to the regulations for the approval of brake discs within the EU, which have been in force for several years now, and the associated high efforts and costs, the one-piece brake discs will be sold exclusively in countries outside the EU.
Beginning with the market launch at the end of 2020, 18 one-piece BMW brake discs will be offered for approximately 70 BMW models with a wide range of engine types from the E-series from 2001 up to the current G-series, from the BMW 1-series to the Z4 Roadster to the BMW 8-series, as well as the SUV models from X3 to X7. In the future, the range will be continuously expanded across additional BMW model series.
Thanks to this extensive coverage with one-piece BMW brake discs, Hella Pagid will already be servicing a vehicle population of approximately 13.5 million vehicles worldwide (outside the EU) from the end of 2020.
