  • Successful certification proves that FORVIA HELLA develops, manufactures and distributes products to the highest security standards
  • As a reference standard, ISO/SAE 21434 is intended to further increase protection against external cyberattacks within the entire automotive industry

Lippstadt, 23 September 2024. The international automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA received ISO/SAE 21434:2021 certification for its Cyber Security Management System (CSMS). The ISO/SAE 21434:2021 reference standard is intended to further increase protection against external cyberattacks within the entire automotive sector in view of the increasing digitalization and connectivity of vehicles. Certification in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434 is therefore aimed at the safety of all electrical and, above all, electronic systems in all phases of the vehicle or product life cycle. The standard therefore also covers development processes and IT systems.

"Due to the continuous progress of digitalization and connectivity of modern vehicles, the importance of protection against cyberattacks is also increasing rapidly," says Fabian Käding, Head of Product Cyber Security at FORVIA HELLA. "Thanks to the certification, FORVIA HELLA can not only demonstrate its commitment to cyber security, but also fulfil the demand for advanced and secure vehicle components."

The certification process was carried out and finally validated by TÜV Nord as an independent testing institute. In the audit, FORVIA HELLA's robust cyber security management system was able to fulfil the high requirements of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard. The successful ISO certification proves that FORVIA HELLA develops, manufactures and distributes products with the highest level of safety.
